Creating custom “Through the Veil” paintings is a wonderfully involved and spiritual process.

Terrenia will spend time connecting with you and learning the story of your loved one. It’s deeply important for her to learn everything she can to bring personality and heart into every project. It’s her goal to express the essence of your loved one in your painting so that you’re able to feel the peaceful presence of those who will never be forgotten.

The process for each “Through the Veil” painting varies, but can sometimes include one photo or a combination of photos to create and capture the perfect remembrance of your loved one, “Through the Veil”. The most important ingredient in creating “Through the Veil” paintings is prayer. Terrenia is most inspired when she is on her knees and is able to truly capture the spirit of your loved one with the Lord’s guidance.

“One year ago we buried our beautiful daughter Jennie.

On Mother’s Day, a dear friend brought this oil painting she did of Jennie looking at us through the veil. Every day I have looked at this feeling she truly is with us.

Thank you Terrenia!

Quit your day job and do what you have been “gifted” to do.

What joy this “through the veil” portrait will bring to so many who have lost a loved one.”

“An amazing, talented, and spiritually in-tune woman named Terrenia has used her gifts and talents to paint portraits for several families who have lost loved ones.

She titles them” Through the Veil” paintings.

She spent over 40 hours painting and many more in prayer trying to accurately depict our eternal family and celestial son through a painted portrait. And we are just one of several families she has blessed this way. “

In October, 2011, Deiter F. Uchdorf, a member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, addressed women gathered from around the world to Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States of America. The theme of his address was Forget Me Not. One woman, Terrenia Porter, was particularly touched by President Uchtdorf’s words that day. As he concluded his remarks, Terrenia saw what she needed to paint.

The only hurdle standing in her way was that she had no idea how to go about painting what she saw. She needed to learn how, so she did.

You see the result before you. The risen Lord Jesus Christ presents a young girl with a forget-me-not bouquet, in effect telling her, “ Child, forget me not ”.

I have had the great privilege of getting to know Angela Johnson, world-renowned sculptor and creator of the Light of the World gardens located at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. As I learned about her sculptures and visited them, they took my breath away. The feeling upon viewing them filled my soul with gratitude for our Savior. https://lightoftheworldgarden.com
I met Angela during the time she was creating these sculptures. I had the thought, “What if I could create paintings of her sculptures and offer them for sale with the proceeds being donated to the “Light of the World Gardens”? I approached Angela and with her permission, this is how the Light of the World painting originated.

Dr. Jones, Rocky Mountain Allergy Clinic, was taking a trip once and saw this beautiful piece of artwork in the airport he visited. At closer look, he realized it was a magnified pollen grain. He got the idea to decorate his office with paintings of magnified allergens. Hence, this is how these paintings originated. They are found displayed at Rocky Mountain Allergy Clinic in Layton, UT.
